One truck, double duty
New split-compartment waste trucks are now collecting kerbside waste across Corangamite Shire. These trucks have two sections – one for general waste and one for recyclables – so both can be collected at the same time. This saves fuel, cuts down on emissions and makes the service more efficient.

Speak up on local laws and pets
We’re reviewing two important documents: the Local Law 2025 and the Domestic Animal Management Plan 2026–2029. The Local Law sets rules to keep our towns safe, clean and fair. The DAMP aims supports responsible pet ownership, deals with roaming and nuisance animals, and works with shelters and vets.

October Council Meeting
Council made key decisions at its October meeting, including appointing community asset committees, adopting new policies, and placing the Camperdown Arboretum Masterplan on public exhibition. It also endorsed the Corangamite Destination Action Plan.

Twelve new citizens welcomed
Twelve people became Australian citizens at a special ceremony in Camperdown this week. Mayor Kate Makin welcomed the new citizens, who came from the Netherlands, United Kingdom, New Zealand, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Egypt. The next ceremony will be part of Australia Day celebrations.

Celebration for shire’s new trail
Join us for the official opening of the Poorpa Yanyeen Meerreeng trail from Timboon to Port Campbell. The launch will be on Friday 14 November at 11 am at the Timboon rail trail head near the amphitheatre. This 19.3km walking and cycling trail offers a fresh way to experience the beauty of our region, with elevated bridges, boardwalks, and artisan stops along the way.
