Rubbish and Recycling

Council is committed to reducing waste to landfill, improving the recovery of recyclables and reducing litter across the Shire. To achieve this, Council offers kerbside waste, recycling and green waste collection in all of its towns. We also operate a state-of-the-art regional landfill at Naroghid and a number of transfer station sites across the Shire. Council has developed a Waste Guide to help residents make the most of the recycling opportunities available within the region.

Free green waste disposal in October

Council is offering free green waste disposal at local transfer stations and Naroghid Landfill from Saturday 4 October to Sunday 26 October, 2025. This is available to Corangamite residential households only – no commercial loads.

In addition to this, we’re offering weekly collection of green FOGO bins from 5 October to 3 January.
