Regional Arts Victoria
Council works in partnership with Regional Arts Victoria to uplift the creative industries in the shire.
Creative industries include areas as diverse as visual and performing arts, fashion, film, literature and publishing, architecture, design, craft and more.
The South West Creative Industries Strategy 2025-2029 provides a roadmap for supporting creative industry practitioners, organisations and supporters in the southwest of the state. The strategy is a collaboration between RAV, regional councils and other stakeholders.
The strategy aims to support the creative industries as an economic, social and cultural driver for south-west Victoria, launching and sustaining creative careers, enriching residents’ lives, encouraging innovation and celebrating creativity.
It includes strategies under four pillars:
- Support First People’s priorities, initiatives and creatives.
- Activate people and places to enliven spaces, develop networks, tell the southwest story and advocate for the sector.
- Increase capability and capacity to grow the creative industries.
- Greater connection to skills, opportunities and each other.
