FEEDBACK ON BUDGET IS NOW OPEN
We’ve released our Draft Budget, outlining how we plan to deliver services, maintain infrastructure and invest in our communities over the next year. It includes $19 million in capital works, including almost $10 million for roads. Feedback on the Draft closes 9 June at 5 pm.

MAY MEETING PRODUCTIVE FOR COUNCIL
Council has adopted a suite of updated policies and endorsed key projects including the Curdies River Flood Study. Councillors also noted community updates, approved local initiatives and progressed plans supporting infrastructure, safety and recreation, and reappointed Mount Leura committee members.

MORNING TEA RAISES AWARENESS
Join a community morning tea in Terang on 15 June to mark World Elder Abuse Awareness Day and help build a safer, more supportive community for older people. This session will share practical information, lived experience and local support options. Bookings are essential.

CHANGE ROOM UPGRADE AT SIMPSON
Work will soon start on new changerooms at Simpson Recreation Reserve, providing modern, accessible spaces for players, officials and the wider community. The $1.3 million project will support men’s and women’s sport, including football, netball and cricket.

CENSUS WILL HELP PLAN RECREATION
Complete the 2026 Community Sport Census and help shape the future of sport in Corangamite. South West Sport and Regional Sport Victoria want to hear what’s working, what challenges clubs face, and what support will help most. Clubs can take part and go into the draw to win up to $2500 in tailored support.

WELCOME SIGNS FOR VISITORS
New location signs will soon greet visitors entering Corangamite Shire, with the first signs rolling out in coming weeks. They will replace ageing signs and aim to boost community pride while supporting tourism. We’ve identified 10 locations to receive signs first.

BUILDING STRONGER SPORT CLUBS
Join the Respect in Sport 101 Workshop and learn how to create a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment at your club. This session on 15 June gives sporting clubs practical tools to promote respect, support gender equality and strengthen leadership. Places are limited. One per club.

ENROLMENTS OPEN NOW FOR KINDERS
Registrations are now open for Corangamite Shire kindergartens, giving families plenty of time to plan ahead. Council-run services are available in Skipton, Western Plains (Lismore and Derrinallum), Terang, Timboon, Simpson and Cobden, as well as private provider Baranbali Camperdown Kindergarten.
