LONGER TRAINS ARE ON TRACK

Corangamite Shire Council has welcomed the addition of six-carriage VLocity trains to some Warrnambool Line services, following years of advocacy for increased train capacity. The longer trains will run on some high-demand Friday and weekend services in coming months, providing more seats and a more comfortable journey.

The new Corangamite Gift Card is launching on Friday 11 September, giving residents an easy way to support local businesses while finding the perfect gift. HAVE YOUR SAY ON CENTRAL TIMBOON

People who live, work, shop or spend time in Timboon can have their say on a proposed planning scheme amendment for the town centre. The Timboon Precinct Plan amendment would help guide future improvements to public spaces, walking and cycling connections, and Council-owned land. Submissions close 14 September.

GRAZE THE DAY LINEUP REVEALED

The countdown is on for Graze the Day, returning to Timboon Amphitheatre on Saturday 28 November. The festival will feature live music from Smoke Stack Rhino, Flynn Gurry and The Hootie Tooties, alongside artisan food and drink, market stalls and plenty of family-friendly activities. Tickets go on sale in early September.

H5N1 bird flu is impacting wild bird populations in Victoria, and the general public should stay informed. A poultry housing requirement for flocks of 50 or more birds is in place in southern areas of Victoria including Corangamite Shire. Do not touch sick or dead birds or wildlife. Instead, record what you see and report it. Learn more
