COMMUNITY PRIORITIES SUPPORTED
Council has adopted its 2026-2027 Budget, balancing financial pressures while continuing to deliver the services and infrastructure our communities rely on.
The budget includes a $19.05 million capital works program, almost $10 million for roads, community grants funding, and ongoing investment in facilities, fire recovery projects and children’s services.

CELEBRATING BUSINESS EXCELLENCE
Corangamite's top businesses have celebrated at the 2026 Business Awards. Winners included Schulz Organic Dairy, Camperdown Veterinary Centre, Cobden Uniting Church Op Shop, Murfett and Whiting Electrical, and Ride With Us.
The awards highlighted local innovation, customer service, sustainability and tourism excellence.

COMMUNITY SATISFACTION RESULTS REBOUND
Community satisfaction in Council’s work has rebounded in the latest survey feedback.
Overall performance rose from 58 to 63, while consultation recorded the biggest improvement. Residents also reported higher confidence in value for money, with Corangamite continuing to perform above state and large rural shire averages.

HOLIDAY FILM FUN FOR FAMILIES
Looking for a free school holiday activity? Bring the family to Camperdown's Theatre Royal this Wednesday 8 July for two free movie screenings. Oddball starts at 10.30 am, followed by Grand Prix of Europe at 1.30 pm. Enjoy the big-screen experience close to home, with popcorn and refreshments available to purchase.

CELEBRATE NAIDOC WEEK IN CAMPERDOWN
Join Corangamite's NAIDOC Week celebrations this Tuesday, 7 July. The free event at Wombeetch Puyuun Reconciliation Garden will feature a Welcome to Country, Smoking Ceremony, storytelling and damper making. The day will launch an Early Years Bush Kinder resource developed with local children.

CRICKET COMEDY COMING TO SHIRE
The Deplorables bowl into Camperdown's Theatre Royal on 16 August. This uplifting musical comedy tells the story of Australia's first women's cricket match and the pioneers who challenged expectations. FUNDING FOR PROJECTS IN SMALL TOWNS
Six Corangamite projects will benefit from Victorian Government Tiny Towns funding. Council's Timboon Precinct Plan will receive support alongside projects at Skipton, Terang, Cobden and Wiridjil. The funding will help improve community facilities, tourism, accessibility and local economic activity.

ELECTION PRIORITIES SELECTED
Council has identified four key priorities ahead of November’s State Election. Efforts will focus on attracting funding for the Skipton Community and Recreation Hub, the Camperdown Production Precinct, planning for a Port Campbell to Princetown Trail, and planning and energy policy reform.

Lismore residents can once again enjoy a complete journey along the town’s Discovery Trail, with a new footbridge officially open. The 18-metre bridge restores an important connection for the town.
