Council Meetings

Council meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month (except public holidays, when the meeting is held on a Wednesday). In December, the meeting is held a week earlier to allow Council decisions to be implemented prior to Christmas.  Meetings commence at 7 pm, and are held either at the Killara Centre in Camperdown (210-212 Manifold Street, behind the public library) or at a venue in one of the Shire’s five wards. Everybody is most welcome to attend the meetings, which usually end by 9 pm.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, meetings may be held virtually, in which case they will be livestreamed on Council's website.  Where meetings are held in person at the Theatre Royal, members of the public are encouraged to view a livestream of the meeting on Council's Facebook page, rather than attend.

Council meetings are livestreamed on the internet to provide members of the community greater access to Council decisions and debate.  Participants may be filmed and/or recorded during the meeting.  By participating in the meeting it is assumed consent is given in the event this occurs.

Meetings consist of Councillors debating Council business, setting strategic objectives, and making decisions on behalf of the community.  Under the Local Government Act 2020, Council may close the meeting to members of the public to consider confidential information.
