NEWEST CITIZENS WELCOMED
We were thrilled and honoured to welcome 26 new Australian citizens at a ceremony in Camperdown on Tuesday 14 July.
Mayor Kate Makin officiated the Citizenship Ceremony and welcomed the new citizens, who originally came from Taiwan, Thailand, The Philippines, New Zealand, Argentina, Germany and the United Kingdom.

WHAT HAPPENED AT THE JULY COUNCIL MEETING
Council allocated more than $321,000 in grants to support local community, facility, environment and event projects at its July meeting.
Councillors also adopted a new Onsite Wastewater Management Plan 2026-2030, approved several updated policies and entered into new community lease agreements for facilities at Derrinallum and Lismore.

$320K BOOST FOR COMMUNITY THROUGH COUNCIL GRANTS
Eighty-six community groups and individuals will share almost $320,000 through Council and Berrybank Wind Farm grant programs.
Council voted at its July meeting to allocate the grants for community facilities, events, environmental projects and more.
A second round of Enabling Grants will also open for shovel-ready projects.

Mental health advocate Warren Davies, The Unbreakable Farmer, is visiting the region to share practical recovery strategies and insights over a free steak dinner.

We’re looking for young musicians aged 12 to 25 to take the stage in shows across the Shire.
Council is seeking young musicians for upcoming events including the Corangamite Youth Showcase, Camperdown Show and Light Up Camperdown.

The H5N1 strain of avian influenza has been detected in south-west Victoria. Victoria has now enacted the State Emergency Animal Disease Response Plan. Avoid contact with sick or dead birds, record what you see, and report it to DEECA on 1800 675 888 or via the online form.
