What happened at the August 2026 Council Meeting

At its August meeting, Council:

  • adopted
    • the Managing Unreasonable Conduct Policy August 2026; and
    • the Councillor Candidates at Federal or State Elections Policy August 2026;
  • received the final report for the Year 1 Council Plan Initiatives for 2025-2026;
  • resolved to submit a motion to the Municipal Association of Victoria State Council Meeting on 23 October that the MAV advocates to the State Government to
    • fund Victoria's Visitor Economy Partnerships beyond 30 June 2027 through a multi-year funding model;
    • recognise Visitor Economy Partnerships as critical economic development partners supporting local government, industry and state government visitor economy objectives; and
    • engage with local government and Visitor Economy Partnerships when developing future funding arrangements;
  • endorsed a submission to the Western Region Sustainable Water Strategy Scoping Paper;
  • received the Corporate Strategic Risk Profile Report for the six-months to 31 July 2026;
  • approved the Business Assistance Scheme Application for funding to Realign Health (Camperdown) for $3,400 and fee waiver of $1,338.40 (ex. GST) for façade improvement and landscaping;
  • endorsed the Corangamite Planning Scheme Review 2026 for provision to the Minister for Planning and to seek authorisation from the Minister to prepare Corangamite Shire Planning Scheme Amendment C71cora;
  • noted the capital and operating projects report for FY 2025-2026;
  • Updated two instruments of delegation.
