What happened at the July 2026 Council Meeting

At its July meeting Council:

  • refused a Planning Permit for a double-sided major promotion sign on Richardson Court Lismore;
  • adopted the Onsite Wastewater Management Plan 2026-2030;
  • allocated grants as follows:
    • $46,508 in Community Grants to 26 applicants;
    • $49,202 in Facility Grants to 29 applicants;
    • $45,988 in Environment Support Grants to 17 applicants;
    • $54,000 in Events & Festivals Grants to 14 applicants;
    • $104,225 in Berrybank Wind Farm Grants to eight applicants;
    • $21,485.50 in facility design grants to three applicants
  • and noted:
    • a future grant round will be conducted for the Enabling Grant program; and
    • the report detailing the Ready Now Grants for July 2025 to June 2026;
    • resolved to enter into three-year lease agreements with
      • 31 Main Street, Derrinallum (Derrinallum Progress Association); and
        • 30-32 William Street, Lismore(Murnong Indigenous Garden Inc.); and
  • adopted the:
    • Trails Management Policy dated July 2026;
    • Urban Street Tree Management Policy dated July 2026;
    • Heavy Vehicle Access Policy dated July 2026;
    • Universal Access Ramps on Footpaths Policy dated July 2026; and
    • School Bus Shelters Policy dated July 2026.
  • in Other Business, Cr Jamie Vogels encouraged residents to contribute to the State Government’s community consultation on the Western Region Sustainable Water Strategy.
