Friends, fitness and a free film: what better way to start the school holidays?

Recreation Officer Ricky Birmingham said Camperdown has a first-class community stadium.

“Have you or someone you know—friends, family, workmates—ever thought about playing sport locally to keep active or just to get social? If so, come and join us at the Camperdown Community Stadium as we kick off the mid-year school holidays in style.

“Join us for our showcase and movie night on Friday 28 June 2024, to coincide with the end of term and with the netball grand final.

“Come along and check out the facilities, ask us questions, watch a netball grand final, and participate in a free soccer clinic.

“There will be loads of fun things on offer for the kids with games, activities, and craft before finishing the night with a movie screening.

In the theme of the evening, the movie will be ‘Back of the Net’ is a 2019 comedy about American science student Cory, accidentally gets on the wrong bus and ends up at a soccer academy instead of a Sea Science.

It features Disney star Sofia Wylie (‘Andi Mack’ and ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’), Australia’s Christopher Kirby (‘Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith’ and ‘The Matrix Reloaded’) and Trae Robbin (‘Girl at the Window’).

“Entry is free and bookings are not required,” Mr Birmingham said.

“We will provide a free barbecue dinner and canteen facilities will be open (cash only).
