The Plan for Noorat community plan was developed through the first half of 2013 and finalised on 17 June 2013. Thirty-four (34) people participated across the town survey, Soapbox and public meetings. The planning process outlined 73 ideas for Skipton across eight broad themes. A list of 27 projects were prioritised, with five selected for early implementation.

The Plan for Noorat documents what is valued most by people who live in Noorat, to be protected and maintained. The Plan will be reviewed in the second half of 2017. The top priorities for Noorat are:

  1. Improve Mount Noorat walking track (completed in part)
  2. Re-open General Store/ Community store
  3. Make new footpaths and repair some (completed in part)
  4. Beautify town entrances
  5. Establish Farmers Market
  6. Install street lighting in key locations (complete)
  7. Expand Glenormiston College offerings
