Discover the stories, architecture and heritage that shaped Camperdown during this special History Month event.

Open Camperdown offers rare behind-the-scenes access to some of the town's most significant historic buildings, with opportunities to explore, learn and meet the people who help preserve local history.

Brought to you by the Camperdown and District Historical Society and Corangamite Shire Council.

Participating venues include:

  • Leura Lodge Masonic Hall – tour the building and learn about the Masons
  • Heritage Centre – displays and the history of the former IOOF Hall
  • Theatre Royal* – explore the various areas
  • Clock Tower* – open for climbing
  • Shire Office* – Robert Burns statue, old Board Room and WWI Honour Board
  • Western District Newspapers – guided tours of the print areas. BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL
  • Court House – explore the building
  • St Paul's Anglican Church Precinct – church, vicarage and parish hall, with morning and afternoon tea available
  • Master's House – architecture and gardens (privately owned)
  • Peacock Hall – historic community building now used as a studio (privately owned)
  • RSL Hall – view recent improvements, with drinks and finger food available

Easy walking between venues.

*Stairs are required at Theatre Royal, Clock Tower and parts of the Shire Office.
