Ever wanted to make your own wonderful cheese at home?

Following a successful tour in July 2026, “Cheese with Barry” be running two small-group, hands-on single day cheesemaking workshops in Camperdown on Friday, October 2 and again on Saturday, October 3.

Camperdown & District Community House is supporting these workshops via sponsorship secured from Cobden & Camperdown Community Bank, covering venue hire and subsidising ticket costs.

In the morning (10am-1pm) workshop, you make Feta, Camembert, Blue and Ricotta. In the afternoon (2pm-5pm) workshop, you make Mozzarella, Bocconcini, Halloumi, Cheddar and Cottage cheeses (and I will show you how to make Burrata). For those booked on the full day experience, we will also make Mascarpone in the lunch break (1pm-2pm) between workshops.

Spend a full day making 11 different artisan cheeses in a relaxed and supportive environment or half a day making your preferred cheeses. Take home 1kg of cheese that you make in either workshop plus 300ml of Mascarpone if you do both workshops. That’s over 2.3kg of cheese for the full experience.

The half day workshop is only $125pp & the full day experience is $225 (or $205 for early bird tickets). If you bring a friend to the full day experience, tickets are available for $205pp. Note: prices may vary slightly depending on location with some cheaper and some slightly more expensive.

Led by Barry — a chemical engineer with over 40 years’ experience in adult education — the workshop combines practical skill and food science in a way that’s easy to understand.

All ingredients, equipment, lunch (for full day experience participants) and refreshments included.
It’s suitable for beginners, couples looking for a unique date experience, a family get together or friends wanting to try something different together.
