In honour of NAIDOC Week our next film, "AUDREY NAPANANGKA", screens on Thursday 3rd July at 7.30pm. In collaboration with Friends of Mt Leura and Mt Sugarloaf.

 

Audrey Napanangka is a documentary film that follows the life of Warlpiri woman Audrey Napanangka and her large, blended Aboriginal family in the Central Desert of Australia. The film explores the intersection of traditional culture and contemporary challenges, highlighting Audrey’s role as a healer, elder, and guardian of her community’s wisdom. Through intimate, observational storytelling, the documentary captures moments of resilience, cultural preservation, and familial love. It paints a powerful portrait of Indigenous identity and intergenerational knowledge in the face of ongoing social and political adversity, offering a unique and deeply personal insight into life in remote Aboriginal Australia.
