This strategy identifies the approach that Council will take, as one organisation amongst many, to protect and enhance the environment and sustainability of Corangamite Shire.

The Climate Change Action Plan 2025-2029 guides actions to address climate change mitigation and adaptation. Council will take steps to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions, and educate the community and businesses on reducing their emissions.

This Management Plan is to assist with the efficient and effective management of domestic wastewater within the Shire in a way which will minimise the potential risks posed by domestic wastewater upon public health, the physical environment and local receiving environments.

Council is committed to work with the community and relevant stakeholders to create a network of road reserves that provide a safe environment for vehicle movement while recognising and protecting the conservation, landscape, cultural and recreation values of rural roadsides.

The aim of the Corangamite Stormwater Management Plan is to identify actions to improve the environmental management of urban stormwater and protect the environmental values and beneficial uses of receiving environments. It identifies those activities that may adversely affect water quality and sets in place strategies to protect waterway values and beneficial uses from stormwater runoff.

The Annual Action Plan directs Council's engagement with the community, focusing on the themes of connectivity, encouraging a thriving community, positive health outcomes and resilience, environmental improvement a focus on community leadership.

This plan was prepared to guide the future management and protection of Lake Bullen Merri and adjoining Crown land reserves by providing a balanced, realistic and achievable framework to guide future management. The plan aims to achieve a balance between recreation and ongoing protection of environmental, scientific and cultural heritage values.
