Youth Showcase turns spotlight on talented young creatives

More than 250 people enjoyed a vibrant celebration of youth creativity at the Corangamite Youth Showcase on Sunday.

The event at the Theatre Royal in Camperdown brought together young artists, musicians and performers from across the region.

More than 30 dancers from Jammin Dance Studio in Camperdown took to the stage throughout the afternoon.

Musical performances were delivered by The Thrillers − a four-piece band from Timboon P–12 School − and talented solo performers Finn Davis, Aidan Vallejo and Elijah Brown.

Students from Camperdown College Senior Campus, Cobden Technical School, Hampden P–12 College, Mercy Regional College and Timboon P–12 School contributed more than 300 artworks highlighting a diverse range of artistic styles and mediums.

Events and Creative Industries Team Leader Tammy Young said works included 3D masks, collages, watercolour and acrylic paintings, line art and pencil drawings and two dresses constructed from milk bottle label backing sheets.

“Attendees ranged from toddlers through to grandparents, reflecting the strong community support for the event.

“Feedback received on the day was overwhelmingly positive.

“Attendees praised the high quality of the performances and artworks, the welcoming and inclusive nature of the event, and the overall presentation of the exhibition.

“In particular, the exhibition lighting received numerous compliments, with many visitors commenting that the lighting effects added an extra dimension to the displays and enhanced the overall experience.

“Overall, the 2025 Corangamite Youth Showcase was a highly successful event, providing a valuable platform for young people to share their creativity while bringing together families, friends, and community members to celebrate their achievements.”
