Camperdown and Port Campbell are finalists in this year’s Top Tourism Towns and now need local support to bring home the award!

Camperdown is a finalist in the Small Tourism Town category (population 1,500-5,000) and Port Campbell is a finalist in the Tiny Tourism Town category (population less than 1,500).

Mayor Kate Makin said having two towns make the finals this year is a testament to the wonderful tourism opportunities across our shire.

“Part two of the competition is a public vote so we need everyone to get out and cast their votes for Port Campbell and Camperdown. To vote go to vtic.com.au/toptourismtown and fly the flag for Port Campbell and Camperdown.

“Having one finalist on the Great Ocean Road and one further north in our beautiful Volcanic Lakes and Plains region is a really persuasive way to encourage visitors to stick around for a while and explore all the region has to offer.

“As part of the award submissions amazing promotional packages have been prepared with three-day itineraries, photos and videos that highlight our landscape, activities and businesses.”

VTIC’s panel of industry experts judged both of our towns to be among the state’s best destinations.

Winners will be announced in August and if we bring home another gold will go on to the nationwide finals as part of Australia’s Top Tourism Town Awards in September.

Voting is now open and closes at 5 pm on Friday 26 June, with winners announced in August.
