Corangamite Shire’s road construction season is progressing well with favourable conditions after wet weather in spring.
Manager Works Lyall Bond said 1.86 km of Darlington-Terang Road was sealed last week, including the asphalting of the new intersection with Terang-Mortlake Road.
“A concrete median has also been installed for safer turning,” Mr Bond said.
“Over at Bradvale, rehabilitation of a 1 km stretch of Linton Road is well underway.
“Last week the shoulders were reconstructed and drainage work carried out.
“New scoria sub-base material has been applied and compacted. It will be finalised and sealed in the new year.”
“Council roadworks then plan to move further south early in 2026 and capitalise on the dryer summer conditions.”
Gravel resheeting and resealing programs and culvert and pipe upgrades are also underway across the Shire during summer. Motorists are encouraged to watch Council’s social media for updates so they can plan ahead for delays.
