Corangamite Shire Council is drafting a brief for the development of a parking strategy for Port Campbell.
Key issues identified so far include:
Manager Environment and Emergency Belinda Bennett said Council had discussed the process with the Port Campbell Progress Group.
“Seasonal and peak-period variations had highlighted the need for a formal Parking Strategy.
“The strategy will address concerns and enable enforcement of parking rules through local laws and inspections.
“Council has collected data on parking and driver behaviours across the town centre, foreshore, and off-street public areas before, during and after major construction works in the town centre.
“The recent observations, along with feedback received during the town centre project and analysis of the 2020 Port Campbell parking survey, will inform the process.
“The brief will be issued shortly with the Strategy to be considered by Council before Summer.”
Council's adopted 2025-2026 Budget includes implementation of a parking strategy at Port Campbell under Strategic Objective 4: Protection and enhancement of our Environment.
