Corangamite Shire Council has proudly acknowledged and celebrated its Maternal and Child Health Nursing team in recognition of International Midwives Day on Tuesday 5 May and International Nurses Day on Tuesday 12 May.
“Our Maternal and Child Health Nurses are all Registered Nurses and Registered Midwives, providing wonderful support and care to infants, children and families across our community,” Ms Katie Hearn, Manager Community Services said.
“For more than 100 years, Victoria’s Maternal and Child Health Service has delivered a trusted and valued service to families during the important early years of a child’s life.
“From newborn care and developmental assessments to parenting support, health education and early intervention, our nurses play a vital role in supporting the health, wellbeing and development of children and families.
“Beyond the clinical care they provide, our nurses and midwives build strong and trusted relationships with families, offering guidance, reassurance and support through every stage of early childhood.
“Their professionalism, compassion and commitment make a meaningful difference within our community each and every day.
“We thank Felicity Wills, Sarah, Cherie, Rebecca, Laura, Rhianna, Lynna & Marie for their ongoing dedication and for the exceptional care they provide to children and families in our community.”
