Country music fans are encouraged to book early for a free Johnny Cash and June Carter tribute show in Cobden during the Victorian Seniors Festival.
Corangamite Shire Mayor Kate Makin is inviting residents to gather their friends, hit the road and enjoy a memorable day out.
“The show, at the Cobden Civic Centre on Wednesday, 14 October, will celebrate the music and the great love story of two of country music's most iconic performers.
“This is the perfect excuse for a road trip with friends. Come along and embrace the theme for the 2026 Victorian Seniors Festival: Connect, Create, and Celebrate.
"Whether you're a lifelong Johnny Cash fan or simply looking for a fun day out, this entertaining performance promises great music, plenty of laughs and wonderful company."
Husband-and-wife duo Mark and Joanne Caligiuri will bring the legendary couple’s music to life with authentic costumes and the distinctive vocals that made Johnny Cash a household name.
The performance will feature beloved classics including ‘Folsom Prison Blues’, ‘Ring of Fire’ and ‘Walk the Line’, along with crowd-pleasing duets such as ‘Jackson’ and ‘Long-Legged Guitar Pickin' Man’.
Coordinator Positive Ageing, Access and Inclusion Belinda Rowbottom said a complimentary light lunch would follow the performance, giving attendees an opportunity to socialise and continue the afternoon's enjoyment together.
“The concert is part of the 2026 Victorian Seniors Festival, which celebrates positive ageing. It encourages older Victorians to connect, create and celebrate through free and low-cost events across the state.
“These annual concerts always book out so book as soon as you can by calling the Positive Ageing and Inclusion Team on 5593 7100.
