Council website survey to save customers time and effort
Published on 07 September 2026
As more and more people do business on their smartphone, Corangamite Shire is revamping its website to make sure it meets customers’ needs.
Council Manager Governance and Civic Support Gabrielle Henry invited residents to complete a short Website Experience Survey to share how they use the current website, and what they would like to see improved.
“The current website has not seen a major refresh since it was launched in 2018-2019 and a lot has changed since then,” Ms Henry said.
“For example, the rubbish and recycling page used to be one of the most in-demand, but the number of visits has gone down since the introduction of the Binfo app.
“Council aims to make the site more user-friendly to save customers’ time and effort getting the answers they need.
“This survey will help us gather feedback on customers’ user experience, which we will use to inform the design phase of the new website.
“This refresh will help ensure the Council website meets international Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) to make digital content accessible to people with disabilities. The goal is to make it easier for visitors to find what they are looking for and self-service.
“Of course, not everybody is tech savvy, so Council will continue to support the community face-to-face and by phone during business hours, but the website is there 24/7 for convenience.”
The survey, which takes about five minutes to complete, covers such as:
- How many times a year does the person visit Council’s website?
- What tasks do people do on the website?
- Have they had any trouble completing tasks?
- Can they find what they are looking for quickly and easily?
- Is the content easy to understand?
- What would make the website more useful?
