Corangamite Shire staff started the new financial year with clear goals after Councillors adopted the Council Plan 2025-2029 at the Special Meeting on Monday 30 June.
Mayor Kate Makin thanked the community members who contributed their thoughts and feedback during development of the four-year plan.
“We received more than 3000 individual comments from people in all of our towns and all walks of life at Community Conversation sessions, focus groups, through an online survey and by speaking to people in the street.
“The plan is Council’s key strategic document and it’s vital that it reflects the aspirations of the community. It sets our vision, mission and values which guide Council decisions.
“People said loud and clear that their priorities are aged care, housing, childcare, climate action and economic development.”
Five strategic objectives will guide Council’s work programs and services including:
“Under each theme the plan lists what we are going to do, the strategy to get there, and how to measure our success.
“Council is committed to delivering projects and services in the best interests of the community and giving the best value for ratepayers’ money.”
At last week’s meeting council also adopted the updated Community Vision 2040 and the following more specifically operational documents which complement the Council Plan and will help deliver its objectives:
