The Corangamite Gift Card will be launched at a business breakfast on Friday 11 September.
Business representatives and residents are invited to gather and celebrate the launch of the new shop local gift program at the Cobden Visitor Centre.
Mayor Kate Makin said the program was a great way to support local business.
“It’s great to see so many local businesses picking up this exciting new idea and running with it. We look forward to even more signing up.
“At this launch, the Corangamite Gift Card will go live and people will be able to buy a card online, or in person at the Civic Centre in Camperdown and the Port Campbell Visitor Information Centre.
“You can then use that gift card at any one of the 50 places that have joined in so far, and support the businesses that employ locals and help our towns flourish.”
Cr Makin said shoppers could buy a physical card to carry in their wallet, or a digital version to keep on their phone.
“You can register your card in case you lose it, just like you can with a MYKI card.
“It’s all about shopping local, keeping money circulating in Corangamite and connection with the people who provide goods and services in our community.
“Come and find out about the Corangamite Gift Card, from 8.30 am-10 am at the Cobden Visitor Centre, 33 Curdie Street.
