Community Satisfaction Survey to begin

An independent market research agency will call 400 Corangamite Shire residents to find out what they think of Council services.
Phone interviews for the Community Satisfaction Survey 2020 will start on Thursday January 30 and continue into March.
Mayor Neil Trotter said householders may receive a call from market research agency, National Field Services.
“They have been commissioned to conduct a community satisfaction survey on our behalf,” Cr Trotter said.
“The survey has been designed to assess Council’s performance across a range of measures, and to find ways to make our services more effective for residents.
“Please be assured that your details and individual responses are confidential. Only the overall results are shared with Council.”
Cr Trotter encouraged all residents to think about experiences with Council during the past year, in case they get a call.
“This survey is a really important way for Council to understand the views of residents on the services we provide,” Cr Trotter said.
“The annual Community Satisfaction is something we take very seriously indeed,” Cr Trotter said.
“It’s a major source of feedback on our performance and lets us know what areas we’re getting right and where we need to pull our socks up.
“It’s a particularly powerful tool when it comes to ensuring budget allocations go where residents want their rates spent.”
Cr Trotter said last year’s survey found Council was performing very well when compared to other municipalities.
“Residents, however, rated road maintenance and weed control as areas of concern,” he said. “Council has significantly lifted the budget allocated to these areas and we hope to see an improvement in community satisfaction.”
Results are expected by the middle of the year and will rate Council in comparison to similar sized Councils and the state average.
The State Government requires all Councils to participate in the annual Community Satisfaction Survey.
