Lake Bullen Merri is one of Camperdown’s natural treasures – a stunning volcanic crater lake perfect for fishing, boating and soaking up the views. It’s where nature, recreation, and community come together.
Lake Bullen Merri is a 450-hectare volcanic crater lake on the southern edge of Camperdown.
Two publicly accessible Crown land reserves adjoin the lake at North Beach and South Beach. South Beach is a popular destination for a range of water based recreation including fishing, water skiing, jet skiing, sailing and swimming. Accessible parking is available at South Beach, and visitors can enjoy fully accessible toilets at South Beach Reserve.
Dogs on leashes are permitted at South Beach at Lake Bullen Merri.
North Beach has a more natural aspect to the lake with limited facilities suitable for local fishing and walking.
Lake Bullen Merri attracts visitors and tourism from the broader region, interstate and overseas. The lake is stocked with salmon and trout and is a popular inland fishing location in Victoria.
