About the position
Corangamite Shire Council is looking for Plant Operator (Grader) to support the maintenance and construction of Council’s road network, property and facilities.
The main responsibilities will include:
- Operating and maintaining plant (including graders, trucks, rollers and loaders) in an efficient and safe manner on construction and maintenance jobs.
- Setting up, operating and utilising GPS and electronic technology linked to construction grading to achieve a pre-designated surface.
- Undertaking routine machine checks with regard to safe operation, fluid levels and lubrication points.
- Maintaining and monitoring traffic control and safety signing on the job as required.
- Maintaining accurate time sheets and work program documentation.
About you
- Demonstrated experience as a Grader Operator, ideally in the construction industry or road making, including grader operation for drainage, final finish construction or other maintenance work.
- Sound working knowledge in the operation, safe use and maintenance of plant and equipment, with the ability to perform manual work in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety guidelines.
- Current Victorian Driver Licence with Heavy Rigid (HR) endorsement suitable for grader operation on roads.
- Construction Induction Card (white card), Traffic Management Ticket and recent National Police Check, or ability to obtain prior to commencement.
- Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a safe and positive work environment.
