Movements afoot to upgrade public toilets

Skipton residents can expect a brand new toilet block at Jubilee Park later this year.
Corangamite Shire Council Acting Director Works and Services John Kelly said the design was chosen from four options by public consultation at the end of 2024.
“The old toilet block, which is not up to modern expectations, is now closed and is scheduled for demolition next week.
“The replacement will provide better amenity closer to the recreation area playground, skatepark and tennis courts.
“Construction of the new block is expected to take 3-4 months.
“During that time, the nearest alternative is just over 300 m westwards along Montgomery Street, near the intersection of Anderson Street.”
The $230,000 project received $50,000 from the State Government’s Tiny Towns Fund.
Repairs to flooring and paintwork of the female and accessible toilets out at the toilets in Camperdown Apex Park are also being carried out.
Temporary interruptions to the use of these toilets may occur during the works over the next 3–4 weeks.
During that time, the nearest public toilet is about 1 km eastwards along Manifold Street, in the Leura Street avenue.
