Corangamite Shire Council will host an experienced executive and Member of the Order of Australia (AM) for an inspirational International Women’s Day Morning Tea.

Alison Watkins AM will be the keynote speaker at the event on Wednesday 4 March, at the Killara Centre in Camperdown.

Mayor Kate Makin said it will be a wonderful opportunity for the community to connect and hear from a woman who has made a significant impact across Australian business, governance and community life.

“International Women’s Day is a chance to reflect on the incredible impact women make across every part of our society,” Cr Makin said.

“From leading ASX‑listed companies to guiding some of Australia’s most significant institutions, as well as owning a cropping and cattle farm near Camperdown, Alison brings a unique blend of corporate vision and regional perspective.

“Her insights will be invaluable for anyone interested in leadership, career growth or supporting women to thrive.”

The free morning tea will feature locally sourced catering, a keynote address from Alison, and a relaxed Q&A session.

“Come along, enjoy some local food, and celebrate International Women’s Day,” Cr Makin said.

The 2026 International Women’s Day theme is Give to Gain.
When we give, we gain.
Together, we can help forge gender equality through abundant giving.

The Give To Gain campaign encourages generosity and collaboration, emphasising that when individuals, organisations and communities give - whether through donations, knowledge, resources, advocacy, mentoring or time - opportunities for women expand. Giving is not a subtraction, but intentional multiplication. When women thrive, everyone benefits.
