July 2025 Citizenship ceremony
Corangamite Shire was honoured to welcome 13 new Australian citizens at a ceremony in Camperdown on July 23, 2025.
Corangamite Shire Mayor Kate Makin officiated and welcomed the ceremony.
The new citizens are Xuehua Wei, Hui Liu, Robert Oloko Ayimba, Keith Wallace, Natalie Wallace-Lamont, Gregory Roberts, Shalanda Roos, Jacqueline Roberts, Jesse, Cara and Penny Love, Luis Schneiders and Jonathan Conway.
Each new Australian received their official citizenship certificate from the Federal Government, a gift bag and a native plant to symbolise their growth, new life, and putting down new roots in Australia.
They have joined us from countries in three continents including Brazil, Cameroon, China, New Zealand, South Africa and the UK, bringing diversity and cultural depth to enrich our multicultural community.
Council hosts four citizenship ceremonies a year. The ceremonies previously occurred during Council Meetings, but the format changed this time to being a standalone event, allowing new citizens and their guests to stay and socialise over a cuppa.
Congratulations to our new citizens!
Our next citizenship ceremony is planned for October.
