Nominations for the 2026 awards have now closed.
Eligibility
To be eligible to enter the 2026 Corangamite Business Awards, businesses must:
- Be registered within Corangamite Shire with a valid ABN
- Hold all appropriate permits and licenses
- Currently operate within the Corangamite Shire municipality
- Not have any outstanding debts with Council
- Agree to the terms and conditions as outlined in this document
- Not for profit and social enterprise businesses are welcome to apply
Assessment
Three finalists were selected for each of the award categories. Finalists were announced in early April. From the three finalists, one category winner is selected as the Award winner by an independent panel of judges.
Independent judging will take place in April/May 2026 which includes contact and visit by category judges to the selected finalists. There are two judges per category, and judges may visit separately or together. The judging panel includes independent business and community leaders, they are considered expert judges for each category.
The decisions of the judging panel are final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
Awards Presentation
Winners will be announced on Wednesday 17 June 2026, at an event commencing at 6 pm. The evening will be celebrated in person at the Camperdown Theatre Royal with tickets to be released at a later date.
Privacy
Council is committed to ensuring the information provided is managed and remains confidential in accordance with Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic). The information collected will be used by Council’s Economy and Prosperity team for administrative, judging, promotional and contact purposes. Logos and images uploaded with your nomination may be used by Council for these purposes including on our website, social media or other mediums.
Terms and Conditions
- Nominations can be submitted as business self nominations or community nominations.
- Applications will only be accepted through the online application process.
- Only full, completed applications will be considered. Nominations are not considered as an application.
- All information provided in the application form must be a true and accurate reflection of your business activities.
- If you are selected as an awards finalist or winner you automatically authorise the organiser (Corangamite Shire Council) to promote your business.
- Applicants can only apply for one award category.
- All relevant information must be disclosed including legal proceedings or prosecutions involving the business or its directors and/or staff irrespective of whether a conviction has been recorded including but are not limited to criminal matters and local laws prosecution, breach of OH&S legislation and health act prosecutions, building and planning matters, animal welfare, WorkCover and EPA prosecutions or legal action involving the business and Council.
- Applications will not be accepted from judging panel, councillors or employees of Corangamite Shire Council.
- Business entering the 2026 Corangamite Business Awards must not be facing bankruptcy, or cause an event which would create embarrassment to the Company nor reflect adversely on the Awards.
- Council reserves the right to refer applications to corresponding categories.
