The Healthy Well Corangamite Plan (HWCP) is Corangamite Shire Council’s four‑year Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan.
It fulfils Council’s obligations under the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008 and is informed by the Local Government Act 2020 and the Climate Change Act 2017.
The Plan aligns with State priorities set out in the Victorian Public Health and Wellbeing Plan 2023–2027 and with key Council strategies including the Council Plan 2025–2029, Community Vision 2040, Positive Ageing, Accessibility and Inclusion Plan 2025–2029, Climate Change Action Plan 2025–2029, and the Recreation & Open Space Strategy.
The HWCP is Corangamite’s public, community‑facing approach to health and wellbeing. It explains how Council and partners will work together to prevent illness and harm, promote inclusion and participation, and build resilience so that healthy choices are easier in everyday life.
The Plan has been named the Healthy Well Corangamite Plan to reflect joint leadership by Corangamite Shire Council and the Healthy Well Corangamite Leadership Group (HWC), who will guide implementation and champion collaboration across the Shire.
