About the position
Corangamite Shire Council is looking for a Motor Mechanic to join our Plant Maintenance team. Based at our Camperdown depot workshop, this role supports the repair, servicing, and maintenance of a wide range of Council vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
The main responsibilities will include:
- Repairing and maintaining heavy plant, light fleet vehicles, light machinery, minor and associated equipment.
- Meeting standards and time frames in the most cost-effective manner according to maintenance schedules.
- Fabricating miscellaneous engineering requirements for Council projects, properties and facilities.
- Acquiring parts and materials.
- Providing advice to employees about matters related to plant and equipment use and maintenance.
- Maintaining records of mechanical works.
About you
- A trade qualification in Motor Mechanics, with experience or knowledge in heavy stream motor mechanics, light vehicle, small engines and/or electric vehicles.
- Current Victorian Driver License and recent National Police Check, or ability to obtain prior to commencement.
- Ability to use computer applications.
- Heavy Rigid (HR) Driver License endorsement, Construction Induction Card, and certificates of competency for various plant such as front-end loader, forklift, crane and/or backhoe are desirable, or a willingness to obtain.
- Experience in welding, metal fabrication, auto electrics, and/or a trade qualification in automotive air conditioning is desirable.
