Lake Bookaar is a permanent salt lake, formed between basalt flows to the north-east of Camperdown. Now named the Lake Bookaar Wetland Reserve and managed by a community Committee of Management, the lake and surrounding area offers an enjoyable nature walk that starts and ends at the scenic car park of the former Lake Bookaar Primary School. Visitors can experience many of the area's countless flora and fauna species of this lakeside track as many of the native flora and fauna species are present at different times of the year.
