#futurefaces to inspire ambitions

All children have a right to be healthy, safe and happy. That’s a great rule for life, and also the theme for this year’s National Children's Week.
The event recognises the talents, skills, achievements and rights of all children.
Corangamite Shire Family & Children’s Services Team member, Leanne Amoore said Children's Week 2019 will be held from Saturday 19 until Sunday 27 October.
“Corangamite Shire Council Family and Children’s Services has organised a free event for families with children aged up to 12 years,” Leanne said.
“Children are invited to come along dressed up as their future selves and have a picture taken in a special photo booth. Props will be provided.
“Children in the Shire are our future and this is a playful way to encourage creative thinking and nurture self-confidence so they can achieve their goals later in life.
“Photos will be displayed in the Shire at a later date.
“Every child will take home a free photo strip as permanent inspiration.”
Leanne said the Children’s Week theme was based on Article 24 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The event has been funded by Corangamite Shire and a grant from the Victorian Department of Education and Training.
