Spring activities

Help our communities spring into action by registering an activity for the Eat Well! Move Well! Be Well! spring program from 21-28 October.

With over 75 activities having been offered over previous programs the chance to be part of reducing obesity in Corangamite is one not to be missed.

Mayor Jo Beard said national statistics had reported more than a third of Australian adults and one in four children are overweight, which is a concerning figure.

“The search is on for activities across the whole Shire that provide opportunities for residents of all ages and ability to join an activity as part of Eat Well! Move Well! Be Well!” Cr Beard said.

“Be it a mental wellbeing session, which in some cases can be the first step in battling the bulge, to actively getting out and participating in an activity, all organisations and groups are encouraged to register an activity to support the program,” she said.

Registrations for Eat Well! Move Well! Be Well! Spring Program can be for a new activity or come and try, but it can also be something that is already happening and just needs to be promoted further.

Cr. Beard said Eat Well! Move Well! Be Well! is a great opportunity, if you are involved in the health and wellbeing sector, whether it be a sporting club, walking group or health provider, to showcase what you have to offer.

Registrations close Friday 29 September.
