Free 'Robot Zoo' workshop for kids

Primary aged children with a passion for inventing and building with Lego can participate in a free school holiday workshop.

‘Robot Zoo’ is a 90 minute workshop hosted by Regional Arts Victoria and Corangamite Shire, Monday 3 July at the Killara Centre, Camperdown.

Two sessions are available 10 am-11:30 am or 1 pm-2:30 pm.

Participants must pretend they are a science advisor to a movie studio, and use Lego Technic to invent and build an imaginary, but believable creature for a rainforest adventure movie.

They will use specialist building techniques to create Lego replicas of creatures including fish, amphibians, reptiles, mammals, crustaceans, insects and birds – a Robot Zoo.

Community Relations Manager Rory Neeson said the workshop was part of Corangamite Shire’s arts and culture program.

“It is one of a number of workshops offered through Regional Arts Victoria and it’s designed to get participants thinking creatively and having fun,” Mr Neeson said.

“Limited places are available so bookings are essential,” he added.

Please contact Corangamite Shire on 03 5593 7100 to book a place.
