Looking for something to do this school holidays? We have lots on offer at the Camperdown and Timboon Stadiums for primary school kids to teenagers.

Young Shire residents can test out where their talents lie with basketball, dancing, boxing and badminton sessions during the school holidays.

“We are running a fun and active school holiday program at both Timboon and Camperdown stadiums,” Recreation Officer Nicole Oberin said.

“There will be a different physical activity offered for the week at the Timboon Stadium and also for Monday and Tuesday for the program scheduled at the Camperdown Stadium.

“Come along with your friends and enjoy something you love already, or try something new. There’s also fitness circuit training so those who aren’t into the competitive sports can still get involved.

“Each session will start from 10am and run through to midday and bookings are not required—you can just turn up on the day.”

The sessions cost of $10 per student includes fresh fruit to keep their energy up.

“Grab your friends and come and shoot some hoops, hit a shuttlecock or learn a few dance moves,” Ms Oberin said.

She said Council was committed to working towards ensuring the health and wellbeing of the community by supporting a range of opportunities for people to lead active lifestyles.

“Taking part in sport, even at a social level, has health benefits and joining in when you’re young can establish good habits for life.”
