What inspired you to run for Council again?
In one form or another I have always wanted to be of service to my community, and when I was contacted and informed that fate had smiled on me for a second time, I jumped at the opportunity to return to Council. Knowing the quality of people I would be working with was very important and made my decision to return an extremely easy one.
What do you believe some of the challenges will be for this Council?
I think our budget will always be a challenge but it is in the best hands imaginable. I won’t state some of the more obvious challenges, but I do think, although it is early days, that the new Local Government Act on the horizon is a stealthy interference in the role of councils and the people who elect them.
If there is one thing (or project) you want to see happen in your time as Council - what would it be?
I would love to see our recyclable materials run through a process that morphs them into viable, marketable products, with their sale benefitting the entire shire.
