A citizens jury
A citizens jury is being assembled to guide the creation of a community vision for Corangamite Shire. Selection of the 45-person jury will be carried out independently by Democracy Co.
Jury members will be selected by random stratified sampling, to reflect the Shire’s gender, age and residential demographic profile. Participation is open to all Corangamite Shire residents and ratepayers over the age of 15 years, except for current and former Corangamite Shire Councillors and staff.
You are invited to participate in this unique opportunity by nominating for the citizens jury. The jury will evaluate ideas contributed by the community, weigh up advice and different perspectives, and develop a vision of a preferred future for Corangamite Shire. No specialist knowledge is required. Members need to bring along an open mind and a willingness to share their knowledge, experience and common sense.
You can nominate to become a jury member below by 30 April, and indicate if you need help to participate, such as childcare or transport to and from sessions.
