Thank you to residents who provided input and ideas towards the development of the draft plan. Corangamite Shire Council’s draft 10-year Financial Plan (the Plan) has now been completed.
Now Council is seeking the community’s views on the draft Plan before it considers adopting at the October meeting.
The Plan is a strategy that outlines Council’s approach to delivering infrastructure and services to the community in a financially sustainable and affordable manner. It demonstrates Council’s commitment to managing operations in a way that avoids unsustainable rate increases and unnecessary borrowings. The Plan achieves this by projecting the Shire’s financial position over a 10-year period, based on a range of assumptions and estimates.
The draft Plan forecasts Council’s financial position will remain relatively stable of the next ten years. It is underpinned by rate and charges increasing in accordance with CPI, service levels being maintained, prioritisation of renewing and upgrading existing assets and nil borrowings.
A copy of the Plan can be found here(PDF, 3MB). We ask members of the community to consider the Plan and provide feedback. Maintaining a 10 year Financial Plan is a requirement of the Local Government Act 2020.
Feedback closes Tuesday 12 October.
