Join our Youth Choir
Calling Singers, Songwriters and Musicians aged 12 to 25 years!
Come and be a part of a community choir as we prepare to perform on the Main Stage at the Colour Terang Festival in September. The Choir will be directed by Dermot Tutty, Choral Director from the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School and voice teacher at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music.

The choir will perform popular songs, songs from musical theatre and a classical item or two. Some prior music experience is a bonus, but not essential. The songs will be prepared in a supportive environment and students will learn about classical singing technique, music interpretation and presentation for the stage. Do not miss this opportunity to meet other aspiring young musicians in your region.
Musicians specialising in all styles are welcome to apply, from hip hop to opera. Dermot Tutty has worked with international opera singers and Australian contemporary songwriters and beatmakers.
Choir involvement includes:
- Attendance of two workshops/rehearsals on Wednesday 27 and Thursday 28 September, 1.30 - 3.30 pm each day, at The Courthouse in Terang (22 High Street, Terang)
- Youth Choir performance on the main stage at Colour Terang Festival on Friday 29 September,
11.30 am - 12 pm.
We would also love to perform songs written by students from the local area. Are you an aspiring songwriter? Would you like to hear a choir perform your music? Submit your song! Successful applicants may have their song workshopped and arranged for the choir.
