This specialist position within Planning and Building Services offers a wide range of planning challenges across the Corangamite Shire's broad rural and urban areas. The successful applicant will be exposed to statutory and strategic planning matters dealing with an array of applications, planning scheme amendments, projects and procedures.

We are interested in applications from experienced or graduate level candidates who have:

  • A tertiary qualification in the planning field or alternatively experience as an Administrative Officer in a Local Government planning office and currently undertaking studies for a planning qualification
  • Good communication skills and can demonstrate initiative and analytical thinking
  • A current Victorian Driver's Licence

WORKS ENGINEER

The Works Department at Corangamite Shire Council is seeking a motivated and team oriented person to assist with the coordination and managing of Council's Maintenance and Construction Work's Program.

Ideally you will have excellent communication skills, attention to accuracy and detail and be able to demonstrate initiative and analytical thinking.

You will possess a qualification in Civil Engineering and be eligible for membership of the Institution of Engineers Australia.  Relevant experience as well as experience working in a local government organisation would be desirable, however graduates are elegible to apply.

Remuneration will be within Band 5 (Graduate) up to Band 7 depending on qualifications and experience.

AGE-FRIENDLY COMMUNITIES PROJECT OFFICER

  • Fixed-term, Part-time until 31 March 2019
  • Based in Camperdown
  • Band 6 currently $36.41 per hour

Age-friendly communities encourage active aging and optimise opportunities for good health, social and economic participation and personal security.

The successful applicant will:

  • Conduct consultations with communities across the Shire to determine local priorities to promote an age-friendly approach.
  • Implement age-friendly projects based on local priorties.

You will need to have:

  • Demonstrated skills and experience in Asset Based Community Development.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in project management.
  • A high level of written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.

Hours and days are flexible and will be in accordance with project demands, however it is anticipated that the successful applicant will work a minimum of 8 hours to a maximum of 20 hours per week.
