News>Pools shape up for summer
| It wont be long before Corangamite residents can cool off at the Shire’s six swimming pools, which start opening in just over two weeks.
All pools will kick off with a FREE OPEN DAY on the first Saturday of opening. Lismore, Cobden and Camperdown pools open Saturday 21 November, with Timboon and Terang pools opening Saturday 28 November, and Skipton pool opening Saturday 5 December.
Corangamite Shire’s Recreation Development Officer, Brooke Love, said new early bird season passes would be available to purchase at shopfront booths across the Shire’s major towns.
Tickets will be available from Camperdown IGA, Cobden IGA, Terang Community Health Centre, Lismore Post Office, Skipton Post Office and Timboon IGA from 3.30pm on the Thursday and Friday before each pool’s open day on the Saturday.
“Residents will be able to purchase early bird season passes at shopfront booths in each town.”
“The early bird price of $85 for a family season pass is the same as last year’s price, representing a small saving for those in the market for a season ticket,” she added.
After this, season tickets for 2009/10 are $89 for a family, $62 each for adults and $52 each for children. Day admissions are $9.50 for a family, $3.10 each for adults and $2.60 each for children.
“A season ticket represents great value for residents wishing to use the pool regularly…. and it means residents can use any one of the Shire’s six swimming pools.”
Upgrades to pools over the winter have included accessible/family changerooms at Timboon, Camperdown and Lismore pools, pipe replacement at Skipton, Cobden and Camperdown pools, and access improvements across all pools.
