Located on the Great South Coast, Corangamite Shire covers an area of 4,600 square kilometres and has a population of just over 17,000. Corangamite Shire was formed by an order in Council in September 1994. Its role and responsibilities are provided for by the Local Government Act 1989. Our community is represented by seven councillors across five wards, being North, Central, South Central, South West and Coastal Ward.
